Miss Aimee is extremely passionate about helping her students achieve greatness. Aimee commenced her training at a young age in various forms of dance and performance and has taken a number of master classes and workshops around North America. Most recently, she spent a part of her summer at the Boston Ballet School learning teaching techniques and training in the speciality area in Adaptive Dance. Aimee has been choreographing a variety of styles for the past few years and began the Paradise Youth Dance Program with the Town of Paradise and has since gone on to guest choreograph and direct for a few other organizations in workshops, performances and competitions. She holds a diploma in Community Recreation Leadership, a Bachelor of Recreation, and is both a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and a Certified Adaptive Recreation & Sport Specialist. Aimee is also NCCP Multi-Sport Certified, holds certifications in Dance and Chair Fitness, and was recently selected for a scholarship with Youth Protection Advocates in Dance, which will provide her with education in best national practices to protect the mental, physical and emotional health of the students she works with. Her education has allowed her to examine and study human anatomy, physiology, movement analysis and adaptations, which has helped her in choreography development and injury prevention. In addition to her education, Aimee has had the opportunity to merge her passion for both dance and inclusion through numerous certifications and trainings, allowing her to educate and consult with other professionals in the province in this area. Aimee strives to create a body-positive and inclusive environment for everyone she has the pleasure to choreograph and ultimately aims to ensure each student feels comfortable, confident and free to challenge themselves in their own individual way.
